Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Spiced Apples:
    • 6 golden delicious apples, peeled and chopped
    • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
    • ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1½ tsp lemon juice
  • For the Crisp Topping:
    • 1 cup light brown sugar
    • ¾ cup old-fashioned oats
    • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • Pinch of kosher salt
    • ½ cup cold unsalted butter, diced into small cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Butter an 8×8 baking dish or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Transfer to the prepared dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in cold butter until it resembles pea-sized crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle topping over apples, gently patting to cover. Bake for 40-50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce for extra indulgence.

Notes

Use fresh apples and butter for the best flavor. Add nuts for crunch or adjust sweetness to taste.
