Description

Soft, chewy, and beautifully red velvet cookies topped with Hershey’s Kisses, perfect for Valentine’s Day, Christmas, or any festive occasion.


Ingredients

  • 7 tbsp butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp red food coloring gel
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup red sanding sugar
  • 18 Hershey’s Kisses

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until smooth.
  • Mix in the egg yolk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  • Scoop out 18 dough balls, roll in red sanding sugar, and place on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie immediately after removing them from the oven. Let cool on the sheet before transferring.

Notes

  • You can substitute red sanding sugar with granulated sugar or sprinkles for variety.
  • Chill the dough for 15–20 minutes if it’s too soft to handle.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
