Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground turkey (preferably 93/7 lean for juiciness)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 large red onion, grated or finely chopped
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or almond flour for gluten-free)
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tbsp dried dill)
- 1/2 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)
- Tzatziki sauce (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
- Prepare the meatball mixture: In a large bowl, mix together ground turkey, minced garlic, red onion, egg, breadcrumbs, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper. Combine until just mixed.
- Form the meatballs: Using your hands or a small ice cream scoop, form 14 even-sized meatballs.
- Cook the meatballs: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and cook for 7-8 minutes, turning constantly until all sides are browned and they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Make the tzatziki sauce: While the meatballs cook, prepare your homemade tzatziki using Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, and dill.
- Serve and enjoy! Pair with rice, quinoa, or a fresh Greek salad for a complete meal.
Notes
To keep your meatballs juicy, use 93/7 lean ground turkey, avoid over-mixing the meat, and ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F without overcooking.
