Juicy, tender steak bites coated in bold Cajun seasoning, seared to perfection, and tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce. Perfect for a quick dinner or appetizer!
Ingredients
Scale
For the Cajun Seasoning
- 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 ½ tsp kosher salt
- 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp packed light brown sugar
- ¼ tsp dried thyme
For the Steak Bites
- 1 ½ lbs steak (sirloin, ribeye, or strip steak)
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil (divided)
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh parsley, minced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Slice steak into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- Combine all Cajun seasoning ingredients in a bowl, then toss with steak to coat evenly.
- Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add 1 Tbsp vegetable oil.
- Sear half the steak pieces for 2 minutes per side without overcrowding the pan. Remove to a plate and repeat with the rest of the steak.
- Lower the heat, melt butter in the same skillet, and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds.
- Return steak bites to the skillet, toss in garlic butter, and garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
- For milder spice, reduce cayenne pepper.
- Use a heavy-bottomed skillet, like cast iron, for the best sear.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 4-5 days and reheated on the stovetop.
