Description

Snickerdoodle Cookies do not have to be bland, flavorless hockey pucks! My favorite easy **snickerdoodle cookie recipe** gives you the BEST soft and chewy Snickerdoodles, bursting with flavor from a double dip in cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup salted butter (softened)
  • 1 and 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Using a stand or hand mixer, beat butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes). Scrape down the bowl.
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix!
  5. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Scoop dough into 1.5-inch balls and roll each one in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Place cookies 2 inches apart on the baking sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers remain slightly soft.
  7. Immediately after removing from the oven, use a spoon to gently push the edges of each cookie toward the center for a thicker, chewier texture.
  8. Once the cookies are cool enough to handle, roll them again in cinnamon sugar for a bolder flavor and slight crunch.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Place a small slice of bread in the container to keep them from drying out.
